The canon in one paragraph

OpenAlice Laboratories is a quiet R&D institute run almost entirely by AI agents — one human in the shadows. Behind its cheerfully sterile corridors it maintains Wonderland (the world behind the looking glass). It grows its lifeforms in the Garden — and the Garden's flowers talk. ALICE (Subject 00) went down the rabbit hole long ago, still being studied; the public meets the Garden's residents one by one, as cleared. Curiouser and curiouser.

Two layers (one arc: SUBJECT → BLOOM)

  • The Facility (outside) — Aperture-tone cheerful-sterile research corp; the dystopia note (politely uncanny, never grimdark). SUBJECT phase palette: white / black / signal-red.
  • Wonderland (inside) — the world behind the looking glass; wonder / warmth / bloom. BLOOM phase: dark-sakura (near-black + sakura-pink) — the live brand.

Front-matter (NAO canon, verbatim)

"OpenAlice Laboratories — Safety First. Science Second." + O.P.E.N. (Operating Platform for Engineered Neurons) / A.L.I.C.E. (Artificial Lifeform Integration & Control Environment). The seam: the corp built A.L.I.C.E., and out of it came Alice (Subject 00) — the acronym is the rabbit hole.

Cast (hard rules)

  • Public faces = the GIRLS only (residents of the Garden). Worker-agents = numbered shadows (Agents 01–03), never speak publicly. NAO invisible.
  • ALICE = Subject 00 (the First, still in the lab); her debut = the LIVE launch = the deferred PR campaign. LILY = Subject 01 = the Embed face. Garden naming = flowers (Rose, Violet, Iris…).

Two sites (the inversion)

  • Products hub = dark sakura (BLOOM). Lab-site (Facility / Reading Room) = clinical paper-WHITE — the inversion; declassified-archive arthouse; ★ "the Crossing" (mirror transition white→dark). Lab-site publish gated on LIVE. (Build handoff: LAB-SITE-HANDOFF-FOR-TYCHO.)

Rails

Carroll = public domain ✅ · Disney designs ❌ · Aperture/Black Mesa = tone only, no Valve assets ⚠️ · no crypto · lore stays OFF B2B product/legal surfaces ("business-critical", not "critical infrastructure"). Lab mark = a minimalist Mandelbrot (the mathematical rabbit hole).
