OpenAlice Vault (Soul Vault — Custodian Layer)

The core sovereign identity custodian. Vault stores, encrypts, and serves a person's portable "soul bundle" — personality, voice, likeness, memory, knowledge, consent history — as a single .soul artefact with a versioned API. Encryption: XChaCha20-Poly1305 per-identity; ed25519 signing; Merkle audit trails; consent-gate default-deny. Milestone 1 is complete and security-reviewed on synthetic data. Real activation is gated behind 5 mandatory checkpoints: Shamir key shares, informed-consent pilot, verifier anti-spoofing, GDPR DPIA, and server-side media hashing. Status is proposed — the engine is built and reviewed, but the gate checkpoints are not yet cleared for public activation. The product page is pre-gate (waitlist CTA, noindex, unlinked). No blockchain. Designed for EU-sovereign operation (subject to gate clearance + #549 eu_only_mode enforcement). Designed to satisfy GDPR Article 9 requirements (DPIA pending — one of 5 pre-activation gate checkpoints).

Audience

Audience — OpenAlice Vault

Who pays: Individuals who want sovereign control of their digital identity; eventually enterprises building on the Vault API (identity-layer-as-a-service). Who uses: End-users storing their identity bundle; developers/apps that integrate the Vault API to prove provenance (via Passport) or generate consent-gated clones (via Clone Lab). Why they care: The long-horizon thesis: as AI-generated content proliferates, provable sovereignty over your own likeness/voice/memory becomes a defence against deepfake misuse and a prerequisite for trusted AI interactions. Vault is the answer to "how do I prove this is really me / really mine." Where we reach them: AI-rights advocates, digital identity researchers, W3C/DID community, content-creator economy (musicians, actors, streamers who fear likeness theft). Currently waitlist-only — no active acquisition.

Strategic note

Soul Vault anchors the 1–3 year platform horizon per the soul-vault-line wiki. Built in parallel while Embed drives near-term revenue. Product pages remain lore-free until the lab site integrates Wonderland-Facility narrative.

Not yet finalised. No pricing defined for the pre-gate phase. Likely models post-gate:

• Personal tier: Monthly fee for individual soul-bundle hosting + version history.
• Developer/API tier: Per-request pricing for Vault API integrations.
• Enterprise: Custom SLA for studios or platforms licensing the Vault API.
